Mohammad Reza Taheri was born in 1945 in Saravan, Balochistan of Iran. He holds a bachelor degree in Economics, from “Economics and Political Science Department” of “Melli University of Iran” (Tehran).

His master degree is in Political Science and Social science, from “Alama Tabatabayee University” in Tehran.

For few months after the Islamic Revolution in Iran (1979), he served as the special advisor to the governor general of Sistan and Balochistan province, and for thirty years he worked as a financial controller, as well as, a superior advisor in planning at the various governmental organizations and institutions within the province, such as: Finance ministry, Governor House, Medical University, Sistan & Balochistan University, Education Office, Planning and Budget Office, etc.

From 1993 he entered into the academic world and so become a faculty member and lecturer of different universities within the province like Azad University, Sistan & Balochistan University, Payam Noor University, Governmental Administration Center, Jihad Sazandegi Center, etc, teaching rural sociology, sociology, law, economics, history, public administration, politics, and accounting.

Later on, he went to Pakistan for his higher studies where received his doctorate of philosophy (PhD) in Political Science.

Mohammad Reza Taheri, has participate in several international seminars and delivered lecture on all. He has written more than sixty articles published in local, national, and recognized journals, as well as, four books on economics and politics. He is an expert on Balochistan, and his fields of interest are political economy, political sociology, and governmental administration.

ِِDr. Mohammad Reza Taheri lives in Zahedan, where currently is the superior advisor to the chancellor of Sistan & Balochistan University, and Head of Saravan Agriculture Faculty. He teaches history and political science in Sistan and Balochistan University.
